I’m Jo, an artist based in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, BC.

I am passionate about exploring colour, texture, and light.

I work primarily with acrylics and oil pastels, building up layers to create ethereal, atmospheric landscapes and seascapes, and bold, colourful florals. I also enjoy creating small still life compositions.

My landscapes and seascapes are inspired by the

Comox Valley and the Pacific Northwest, and also by the English countryside where I grew up. I rarely work from photographs, preferring to work intuitively and let the painting guide me.
